Coming to the orchard garden of Can

is tropical and monsoonal with two seasons: rainy, from May to November; and
dry, from December to April. Summer is the blooming season of all kinds of
fruit in Southern Viet Nam. The city offers a wide range of tropical fruits
such as pomelo, longan, jackfruit, mango and durian….

kinds of seasonal fruits. Also, visitors can take part in some activities at
the garden and experience the life of the farmers in the countryside to feel
the honest of the local people. Visitors have not only the peaceful life of the
countryside, cool breeze, delicious fruits but also the hospitable of the local
people. The abundance of fruits in the region also means that people use fruits
in many different ways: eating raw, making juices, mixing salad, preserving
jams and many other delicious desserts.

Durian
+ Pomelo
Especially ,if you have any chances
to visit Vinh Long province, remembering to try Durian which is praised to be
the best durian variety in Viet Nam. If you are in the Mekong Delta especially
in durian season ( from May to August of year ) you should try to enjoy it for
yourself. It’s easy to find durian in any markets or supermarkets of Vietnam.
It has big size, interesting odor, an outer husk covered in spikes that are
able to draw blood and its highly value.
Besides, in Vinh Long province there
are many tasty varieties of pomelo. Ordinarily, the pomelo is named for the
locality where it is grown. For example, in the South there is the Binh Minh
pomelo .There are several kinds of pomelo regionally famous for their taste
like" nam roi". Green peel pomelo is a specialty of My Hoa commune,
Binh Minh district, Vinh Long province. Pomelo is a tropical and subtropical
species and prefers to grow in hot and humid climate.
Rambutan
In the southern provinces, the tree yields
fruit at the beginning of the rainy season. The rambutan season lasts until the
end of the rainy season (from May to October). The skin of this fruit is tough,
thick and hairy. Its meat is transparent white and tender, and has a cool sweet
taste in the mouth. The most reputed rambutan fruit nation-wide is grown in
Binh Hoa Phuoc Village (Long Ho District, Vinh Long Province).
Papaya
In the south, one of the popular
varieties of papaya is the one with red, thick pulp that has a fragrance but
that does not contain much sugar. This species is grown in the Mekong Delta
Region. Papaya is sold all year round, especially in the south, and is not very
expensive. It has a sweet smell and offers various minerals and vitamins, such
as vitamin A and C.
Pineapple
Pineapple plants are widely grown in
the country. The peak ripening time for this tropical fruit coincides with
summer when the hours of sunshine are longer. People in southern Vietnam
usually call this tropical fruit trai thom (fragrant fruit), which is literally
a precise quote for the fruit since anyone who takes their first bite can
surely notice the strong sweet smell. It is sold all year round.
Star
apple
The star apple tree is a tropical or
subtropical species and grow well only in the warmest locations of southern of
Vietnam. The most famous Star apples located in Can Tho Province in the Mekong
River Delta. In this place, visitors can enjoy themselves the hundreds of star
apples suspended from the branches. Star apples in here are famous for the
round smooth and equal size fruits. if visitors are unfamiliar to the region,
they can be guided by locals to enjoy
this fruit.
Mango
In Vietnam, Mango plants are well
grown in southern provinces and are divided into several kinds, named locally
as Xoai Cat Hoa Loc, Xoai Tuong, Xoai Chu and so on in which the most well
known is Hoa Loc mango in the Mekong river delta for its aroma and sweetness. Mango
is generally sweet. The ripe mango is normally eaten in fresh and the unripe
which taste is mostly sour is used for cooking as well as making varieties of
pickles.
Mangosteen
Mangosteen is a tropical tree so it
just grows in warm weather condition so it just disposes popular main in the
south of Vietnam. The mangosteen iscompared as the queen of fruit thanks to its
semi-farm exterior shell which could not be much to look at, but what impresses
people on the first time trying is that the the soft and delicate flesh of the
white interior.
It is easy to find dragon fruit in
any Vietnamese markets. To select a nice fruit is quite easily, simply look for
full-bodied, full colored fruits. If the fruit has a lot of blotches, it may be
over-ripe (a few is normal). If it's quite firm, it may need to ripen for a few
days.
Mandarin
oranges
Mandarin oranges are one of most
popular citrus fruits of the orange family.
The mandarin oranges has a thin skin that is easy to peel which can be a
material of children’s snack. Main production areas of mandarins in Vietnam
are: Can Tho, Tien Giang, Vinh Long...
Vietnam is truly a heaven when it
